It is important for teachers and parents to communicate on a regular basis and to discuss progress, strategies and challenges each step of the way during a semester and school year. TSA uses Edline, an online educational program, to help facilitate that communication. Parents and students are given academic progress updates by the teachers in a timely fashion, avoiding “surprises” when interims and report cards are issued.
School Closings
Information regarding closing of school due to inclement weather or other conditions will be broadcast on the following radio and television stations:

Information will also be posted on Edline and recorded on the school’s phone system if accessibility is possible.
Lunch Program
Thomas Sumter Academy offers an outsourcing lunch program from local restaurants for our students. Order forms are distributed through homerooms every two weeks, can be picked up in the front office or printed off of Edline. Some of our vendors include Lilfreds, Chick-Fil-A, Sambinos, and Sonic. We also offer hot side items and salads weekly.
Transportation
TSA Bus Program
Bus transportation to and from school is provided from central locations in Sumter, Richland and Kershaw counties. All buses are driven by licensed adults. Parents interested in one-way transportation on a regular basis will be accommodated at half fare. Information on specific pick-up locations and application forms are available in the school office.
Carpool
Morning Drop-Off
Thomas Sumter Academy has a safe and efficient carpool system. Morning Drop-Off begins at 7:45 a.m. Early drop-off is available beginning at 7:15 a.m. in the Lower School library for an additional fee.
